Bill Kanengiser of the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet joins the Alexander String Quartet for the US premiere of Sting and Dusan Bogdanovich's Prism-Six Songs by Sting. The program, entitled British Invasion also features works by Leo Brouwer, Ian Krouse and John Dowland.

Having celebrated its 30th Anniversary in 2011, the Alexander String Quartet has performed in the major music capitals of five continents, securing its standing among the world's premiere ensembles. Widely admired for its interpretations of Beethoven, Mozart, and Shostakovich, the quartet's recordings of the Beethoven cycle (twice), and the Bartok and Shostakovich cycles have all won international critical acclaim. The quartet has also established itself as an important advocate of new music through over 25 commissions from such composers as Jake Heggie, Cindy Cox, Augusta Read Thomas, Robert Greenberg, Martin Bresnick, Cesar Cano, and Pulitzer Prize-winner, Wayne Peterson. A new work by Tarik O'Reagan commissioned for the Alexander by the Boise Chamber Music Series, will have its premiere in 2016.

Recognized as one of America's finest classical guitarists, William Kanengiser won First Prize in the 1987 Concert Artists Guild International Competition as well as major guitar competitions in Toronto and Paris. He has recorded four solo CD's for the GSP label, ranging from classical to jazz to Caribbean to Near Eastern styles, and he recently recorded two CD's for the Suzuki Guitar Advanced Repertoire Series. As a founding member of the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet, Mr. Kanengiser has toured extensively throughout Asia, Europe and North America and recorded over a dozen CD's.
