San Francisco State Annual Scary Concert

San Francisco State faculty pianists Inara Morgenstern and Victoria Neve perform Halloween-themed music, an annual San Francisco State tradition for more than 25 years. Special guest appearance by Ariela Morgenstern, mezzo soprano. Featuring Edgar Allen Poe’s “A Tell-Tale Heart” set to a piano score and spooky works by Cowell, Crumb, J. S. Bach, Isidor Philipp, Liszt and Kevin Wood.

Victoria Neve
Neve teaches piano and music theory. She has distinguished herself as a piano soloist, chamber musician, duo pianist and accompanist throughout Northern California and in Illinois, Pennsylvania, Kansas and Tennessee. Her appearances include presentations for the College Music Society, National Conference on Women in Music, Memphis State Music Festival and State Convention of the California Association of Professional Music Teachers. Neve has been heard on radio as a piano soloist on the National Public Radio series “Early Series,” as well as on stations KQED in San Francisco, KPFA in Berkeley, the UC Santa Cruz radio station and KMVR in Northern California.

Inara Morgenstern
Inara Morgenstern teaches basic piano and keyboard theory. She is a distinguished Bay Area performer of solo piano, duo piano and piano vocal repertoire. Her solo performances have championed American and Russian futurist composers. Recent concerts have included works by George Crumb. She is often heard accompanying faculty and student voice recitals at San Francisco State and UC Santa Cruz.
