Nora Stanley is a Bay Area-bred saxophonist and composer. Brought up around a variety of musical influences, she attended Berkeley High School and participated in conglomerate programs such as SFJAZZ High School All-Stars and Latin Jazz Youth Ensemble before moving to Ohio to study with Gary Bartz, Billy Hart, Eddie Henderson, and Dan Wall at Oberlin College and Conservatory.
She has shared the stage with such greats as Ambrose Akinmusire, Gary Bartz, Dayna Stephens, and Jerry Gonzalez, and performed at the Monterey Jazz Festival, SFJAZZ Center, and internationally in Spain, Cuba, and Brazil.
