Steinway Society Presents Benjamin Grosvenor
Benjamin Grosvenor is one of the most sought-after pianists in the world. He has been featured in two BBC documentaries and was the youngest British musician ever signed by Decca Classics. His concerts thrill and delight sold out audiences worldwide. This young British pianist has already appeared at the BBC Proms multiple times, on every major international concert stage including Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center, and with the world’s leading orchestras. He records exclusively for Decca, the youngest British musician ever to sign to the label, and the first British pianist to sign to the label in almost 60 years.
Grosvenor first came to prominence as the outstanding winner of the Keyboard Final of the 2004 BBC Young Musician Competition at the age of 11. A pianist of widespread international acclaim, he continues to collect honors and awards, including being the inaugural recipient of The Ronnie and Lawrence Ackman Classical Piano Prize with the New York Philharmonic in 2016.
During his sensational career to date, Benjamin has received Gramophone’s Young Artist of the Year and Instrumental Awards, a Classic Brits Critics’ Award, UK Critics’ Circle Award for Exceptional Young Talent, and a Diapason d’Or Jeune Talent Award.
Grosvenor “commands the stage with aristocratic ease … makes you sigh with joy … A temperament rare in yesteryear, let alone now.” The New York Times
