Presented by Tactus SF

Jonathon Hampton directs the burgeoning early-music chamber chorus, Tactus SF, in a concert of Renaissance music begging mercy from the powers that be. English repertoire of Byrd, Farrant, Tallis, Wilbye, and neo-Renaissance composer Tanmoy Laskar. Also marvels by Spaniards Morales and Victoria, Franco-Flemish composers Lassus and Ockeghem, and the distinguished German, Hassler. Enjoy rarely performed choral favorites calling on Christ, the Virgin Mary, Love, and Death, lamenting sin and sorrow and pleading protection and preservation.

Nick Jones, Tactus SF singer, music critic, and Early Music America board member, will give a pre-concert talk 30 minutes prior to the concert. The talk will be geared towards audiences of all ages.
