The Choral Project (TCP), the award-winning, Silicon Valley-based choir, announces its first concert of 2020, ART OF SOUND:: OCEANS OF SONG.

Featuring choral works that span several styles and cultures, the repertoire for this season’s ART OF SOUND :: OCEANS OF SONG connects lands and people together, much like oceans do. The centerpiece of the concert will be the Northern California premiere of “The Ocean Between Us” by rising star composer Matthew Lyon Hazzard, for choir, piano, strings, and tuned wine glasses. Two additional premieres include a newly adapted setting of Daniel Hughes’s powerful song “Refugees,” set to a thought-provoking text that addresses the plight of those who seek refuge from poverty-stricken countries, and the winning entry in the 2019-20 Rachel Moore Student Composition Contest. Rounding out the program are pieces by Renaissance composer Orlando di Lasso to contemporary South African composer Lebo M, and musical jewels by Jake Runestad, René Clausen, and Andrea Ramsey.
