The Choral Project (TCP), the award-winning, Silicon Valley-based choir, announces WINTER’S GIFTS :: SPIRIT, its annual holiday concert collaboration with the SAN JOSE CHAMBER ORCHESTRA (Barbara Day Turner, Director), December 21 & 22. The concerts take place at the beautiful Mission Santa Clara, as well as in a new location in Palo Alto at the First United Methodist Church of Palo Alto.

WINTER’S GIFTS :: SPIRIT features works by a star-studded roster of composers, including Arvo Pärt’s “Summa” (for string orchestra), Dominick Argento’s resplendent “Gloria” (from The Masque of Angels), Joan Szymko’s deeply moving “Peace of Wild Things,” Adrian Peacock’s rousing “Venite, Gaudete,” and John Paynter’s other-worldly composition “The Rose.” Several gems by local favorite composers include Brent Heisinger’s “Walk Within Winter,” Anica Galindo’s “Swept Away,” and a world premiere by conductor Daniel Hughes on the subject of our interconnectedness.
