Benefit Concerts at Zion

 Benefit Concerts at Zion

Acclaimed pianist Sarah Cahill and virtuoso violinist Kate Stenberg in concert together.

Interfaith Welcome Refugee Center and Zion Lutheran Church invite you to hear works by Kaija Saariaho, Gabriela Lena Frank, Henry Cowell, and others in a benefit for The Dirty Girls of Lesvos, a humanitarian and environmental organization helping refugees in Greece.

The New York Times recently called writer, producer, and pianist Sarah Cahill “a sterling pianist and an intrepid illuminator of the classical avant-garde.” New Music Box describes violinist Kate Stenberg as ”highly virtuosic and deeply communicative . . . Full of character and presence.” The opportunity to see these two sterling performers together is not to be missed. Watch Kate Stenberg perform with Sarah Cahill: https://tinyurl.com/yd8f7e9v

Fully 100% of all donations will go directly to Dirty Girls of Lesvos, an on-the-ground NGO that has pioneered the cleaning and redistribution of used and discarded clothing, bedding, and other materials for humanitarian relief. Foreign Policy magazine named founder, Alison Terry-Evans, one of its Global Thinkers in 2016. Ms. Terry-Evans will share the powerful story of Dirty Girls’ work in the refugee camps of Lesvos and on mainland Greece. Visit Dirty Girls of Lesvos: www.dirtygirlsoflesvos.com.

Cash, checks & credit cards accepted at the door. Make checks payable to Cardea Center for Women and Write Dirty Girls on memo line.
Free reception follows the concert.
No reservations necessary.
