Ballet San Jose was founded in 1983 as the City Center Ballet of San Jose, and in 1985 began a co-venture relationship with Cleveland Ballet that spanned the two cities for nearly 15 years before its re-establishment in 2000 as an independent resident company in San Jose. Ballet San Jose presents nearly 30 performances annually at the San Jose Center for Performing Arts. Ballet San Jose School is the official school of Ballet San Jose, training more than 400 students annually, and in 2012 became the first institution on the west coast certified to offer the complete America Ballet Theatre National Training Curriculum.
From the practice studio to the stage, BandWorks gives aspiring musicians of all ages and abilities the skills to play in a rock band--and make new friends in the process. In our fun and supportive workshops, summer camps, and after-school programs, BandWorks' professional musician-instructors organize students into bands, help them rehearse their favorite songs in a fully equipped studio, then let them take the stage to perform live at a popular local venue.
Bard Music West is a place where audiences can explore the continuum of music in concert while connecting deeply with music of our time. Bard Music West is a new generation of the Bard Music Festival (BMF), a critically-acclaimed classical music festival founded by Bard College in 1990 that each year examines the life, influences, and music of a single composer through thematic concert programming, preconcert talks, and panel discussions. Bard Music West combines the depth and creativity of the BMF with a modern twist for the innovative San Francisco Bay Area.
BAAT is a consortium of Bay area Alexander Technique teachers dedicated to sharing Alexander Technique training for the performance improvement of artists and musicians as well as the general public.
