The San Jose Wind Symphony (SJWS) performs six to nine concerts a year at venues throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. Each concert is a mixture of contemporary, classical and popular works for wind ensemble or symphonic band.
The SJYS comprises eight distinct performing ensembles: two full orchestras, two wind ensembles, a flute choir, a percussion ensemble and two string ensembles for children ages 8 - 21.
This newly all-professional ensemble focuses on contemporary and new music works for chorus and orchestra. Their repertoire generally features chamber-scale works, but expands or shrinks as the music dictates.
