Founded in 1964 by Galen Marshall and currently under the direction of Dr. Bryan Baker, Masterworks Chorale performs a rich variety of music, from major works of the Renaissance and Baroque periods, to modern masterpieces, and new works by contemporary composers. This innovative programming makes Masterworks endlessly engaging for both performer and listener.
Masterworks Chorale performs 3-4 concert sets each season of choral masterworks from all eras. They are usually joined by professional orchestra and soloists.
Each year a symphony hall is built from the ground up at the Mendocino Headlands State Park, Ford House Museum and Visitor Center grounds. The Festival presents two weeks of music including orchestra concerts, opera, chamber concerts, jazz, folk, world music and Big Band. Some concerts include dance performances.
