Haruka Fujii Trio – Sound of Japan

Presented by Community School of Music and Arts

A program introducing melodies, rhythm and harmony from Japan by internationally acclaimed musicians including Haruka Fujii of Grammy Award-winning ensemble Silkroad, Ray Furuta - known as a Cultural Ambassador of USA, and the San Francisco Ballet Orchestra’s associate principal violinist, Beni Shinohara. The trio will spotlight two world premiere works by local Bay Area composers David Verota and Shinji Eshima, along with some of the all-time popular folk melodies to masterful works by modern Japanese composers and also American composers deeply influenced by stories, music and culture of Japan.
