Music Director Daniel Hope leads New Century Chamber Orchestra in a program of works from the mid-20th century that shaped the American sound for a new generation, headlined by one of Aaron Copland's most popular works, Appalachian Spring Suite, in its intimate original setting for 13 instruments. American soprano Leah Hawkins makes her New Century debut with a collection of works highlighting influential voices from the Harlem Renaissance, including Florence Price, William Grant Still, Duke Ellington and Harry Lawrence Freeman.
