Virtual Med/Ren Workshop • Shira Kammen • Music from the Original Carmina Burana The Carmina Burana

Presented by San Francisco Early Music Society

The Carmina Burana is an important and vast manuscript of songs and poems from the 11th - 13th centuries. The pieces are mostly bawdy, irreverent, and satirical; both monophonic and polyphonic, in many languages. We'll explore this wonderful repertoire in many different ways, including improvisation and making our own arrangements. For singers and instruments

The Baroque, Medieval/Renaissance, and Recorder Workshops will hold online sessions in May and June. Information is currently available for the May classes, and will be available in mid-May for the June classes.
