Stanford Afro-Latin Jazz Ensemble Fall Concert

Presented by Stanford Afro-Latin Jazz Ensemble

The Stanford Afro-Latin Jazz Ensemble is excited to present its first concert of the academic year! This time we've got an unusual mix of music spanning the entire spectrum of the Latin Jazz idiom -- ancient African folkloric elements mixed with contemporary jazz, Cuban carnival rhythms, and Latin American hymns! Of course, we have our traditional and modern salsa repertoire as well. Please join us - we are very excited to play for you.

The music is guaranteed to make you want to jump out of your seat. Don't miss it!

The event takes place at Stanford's Dinkelspiel Auditorium on the Stanford campus on Saturday, December 3 at 7:30 PM. Advance tickets are available online for $18 general/$13 students and seniors. In addition, the concert is free to Stanford students with valid SUID.  TICKETS MUST BE PURCHASED ONLINE at tickets.stanford.edu. Unfortunately, in-person walk-up tickets are not available. Remember to get your tickets!

Established in 2008 by Grammy-nominated pianist Murray Low, the ensemble has emerged as one of the premier academic performing groups of its kind. As prior recipients of a prestigious SiCA (Stanford Institute for Creativity and the Arts) grant, SALJE has been affored the opportunity to collaborate with several luminaries in the field of Afro-Latin music that have helped to elevate the ensemble's performance acumen, as well as aid in establishing Stanford as a vital West Coast center for Afro-Latin Jazz.
