à Thérèse: Virtual Beethoven Festival, Concert V

Presented by Valley of the Moon Music Festival

Our 6th Annual Valley of the Moon Music Festival heads toward the final weekend: August 1st and 2nd! Join us for a 4PM premiere and LiveChat with Festival musicians.

All performances are unedited and recorded to create the feeling of live concerts. Boby Borisov at OOAudio mixed the sound to create the highest quality listening experience (we recommend listening on a good sound system, or with headphones, when possible).

The health and safety of our Festival musicians was paramount - by exploring Beethoven's music for small ensembles, we kept the number of performers to a minimum while carefully respecting current health guidelines. The festival performers are internationally recognized musicians from the Bay Area, who carried forward the spirit of the annual Festival in Sonoma.

In the Festival’s Blattner Lecture Series, scholars and VMMF musicians provide commentary for the concerts. Speakers include: Nicholas Mathew, author of Political Beethoven and Associate Professor in the Department of Music at UC Berkeley; Nicholas McGegan, former Artistic Director of Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra; and Kate van Orden, Harvard University’s Dwight P. Robinson, Jr. Professor of Music, in conversation with her PhD student Elaine Fitz Gibbon.
