Carnegie Hall’s Wishlist for a New Chairman Leaked

A draft memo obtained by the New York Times lists “a passion for the arts and a love of music” and someone who can “generate substantial annual revenue” and “work effectively with a diverse set of stakeholders” as qualifications for Carnegie Hall’s new chairman of the board. The concert hall is seeking a new chairman after its last chair, billionaire Ronald O. Perelman, left, only eight months into the job. According to the Times, Perelman was considered by some to be a controversial choice, with a reputation for being combative and having admitted at one point he was not a classical music aficionado.
