Classical KDFC is partnering with the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Announced today, the Conservatory’s new building, the Bowes Center for the Performing Arts, will house — in addition to students, classrooms, and performance spaces — the Bay Area’s premier classical radio station.

The advantageous move opens up a host of collaborative possibilities. Under the auspices of SFCM’s professional development department, the station will serve as a tool for students, as performers and maybe even behind the booth. For KDFC, the change of location, from 3rd Street to the heart of San Francisco’s Civic Center, means a closer connection to the city’s major performing arts institutions.

Expect to see, and hear, KDFC in a new location, following the scheduled opening of the Bowes Center in 2020.
