The San Francisco Symphony will be obliging its South Bay fans by bringing the music to them. The orchestra has announced a partnership with Stanford Live that will bring an annual summer concert series to the newly renovated Frost Amphitheater on the Stanford University campus. No word yet on whether the orchestra will wear cardinal and white for the concerts.

This year’s series kicks off on July 10, with Michael Tilson Thomas conducting and Gil Shaham violining. Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 4 highlights the program. Gemma New conducts the orchestra and chorus in a performance of Beethoven’s Ninth on July 13 and 14.

Subscribers will have first crack at tickets on Feb. 19, and the general public will be able to buy tickets beginning on Feb. 26.
