San Francisco Performances

April 11

Tanya TomkinsTanya Tomkins recently delighted new and longtime SFCV fans with a “musical conversation” held in a delightfully intimate space in the downtown area of San Francisco, where she played selections from Bach’s Cello Suites. So it’s no stretch to report that her Bach playing is at a level of deep-seated feeling and communion that most players can only dream of.

But to hear these pieces in a really appropriate space, like the Salon at the Hotel Rex, and to see them performed by so communicative artist makes this opportunity unmissable. It’s not a major event, but it will certainly be one of the most memorable live performances of classical music of the season.
