Very First Concerts

Did you ever want to take your really young kids to a concert but were afraid they couldn't sit still, or stay
quiet? The Crowden School and San Francisco Chamber Orchestra have teamed up to bring you a special series where wiggles and squeals are par for the course. And it's done all together, in sync with the music in a joyful jamboree. Very First Concerts is geared to kids from newborns to 6 years of age, with lots of movement and fun rolled into musical exploration. Your kids will like their music in nice little bites, and you will enjoy the fact that it's free!

Join them for a trip around the world, as Benjamin Simon's orchestra performs music from far-away places like Asia, Europe, Africa, and North and South America in this second installation of the series. With sounds and rhythms that are sure to delight, this introduction to World music makes for exotic entertainment.

Dedicated to exploring music composed for chamber orchestra from the 17th to 21st centuries, the San Francisco Chamber Orchestra is attracting standing-room-only audiences and rave reviews for their admission-free performances around the Bay Area. A hand-selected group of top professional musicians directed by Ben Simon, the ensemble is dedicated to toppling barriers that have turned classical music into an exclusive club, as well as educating the next generation of music lovers to the joys of listening.

Don't miss SFCO's own series of Family Concerts, just expanded from two to three concerts annually, with an new venue in Oakland added to those in San Mateo and San Francisco.
