La bohème at Opera San José

Opera San José's La bohème

Opera San José opens its production of La bohème this weekend. Puccini's bittersweet love story reliably leaves new operagoers in tears and is tailor-made for young casts, OSJ's specialty.

If there's anywhere that the OSJ's singers should triumph, it's here, in the warm, rising phrases of “O soave fanciulla,” the swing of “Musetta's Waltz” and the playful banter of the Bohemian friends.

It may be Easter, but it's always the season to visit Café Momus on Christmas Eve.
