Chamber Chorus

AfterGlow Chorus is always looking out for talented, experienced singers interested in performing in a high-quality, chamber choir. Our singers come from a variety of backgrounds and ages. Many of the singers have studied music at a conservatory or sung in choirs and other vocal ensembles in college. This select, auditioned group of 24 singers has come together to perform a broad range of pieces across genres at the a high level of musicianship and quality.

The California Bach Society, voted the Best Choral Group and Best Early Music/Baroque Ensemble in the SFCV Best of the Bay 2017/18, is holding auditions for our 2019-20 season on Monday evening, August 19th, in Palo Alto. We have a few openings in all parts (SATB) and are always on the look-out for new singers. We sing four concert sets a year, with concerts in San Francisco, Palo Alto, and Berkeley. Resound is a chamber chorus of volunteer mixed voices based in San Francisco. We believe that ensemble singing is a visible metaphor of different people coming together to create beauty and harmony. We believe there is no disconnect between art and popular music, and we juxtapose unlike pieces to reveal something impossible if they were performed alone. When people ask us about the music we sing, we often say we're the ensemble of the shuffle generation!

Are you an experienced vocalist looking for challenging repertoire and a wonderful choral community? We’d love for you to join us! Sacred and Profane, A Chamber Chorus has openings for voices in all sections (SATB) for our 2019–20 season. Fall rehearsals begin September 9, 2019.

The inaugural concert date is Sunday, August 4, which is called "From the Heart," is meant for the singers to honor loved ones who are no longer with us.

The music will include a wide range of composers and genres, including Bruckner, Alice Parker, spirituals, gospel, jazz, Prince, and Stevie Wonder. These are all wonderful masterpieces (old and new) that are incredibly enjoyable to sing!

Do you enjoy performing Renaissance music in a chamber setting? Are you seeking to develop your sight-singing, musicianship, musical leadership, and solo singing, while making lasting friendships with fellow musicians?

If so, Tactus (SF) may be a good fit for you! We are looking for sopranos, tenors, and basses for our Spring concert set, but any voice part is encouraged to apply. Concerts are currently scheduled for May 11 & 12, 2019.

Marin Baroque is an emerging-professional level chamber choir with outstanding period-instrument orchestra directed by Daniel Canosa.
Singer requirements include: strong choral and solo experience.

Marin Baroque, an emerging professional level chamber choir with outstanding period instrument orchestra, is seeking tenors. There is also a paid position for a soprano. Requirements include: strong choral experience, an understanding of vocal technique, and the ability to read music. Solo opportunities. November 2017 concert: music by Biber, Mozart, and Haydn, including Haydn's Kleine Orgelmesse.

The audition lasts about 20 minutes and will consist of vocalizing, sight reading, and a prepared piece of your choice (accompaniment will be provided).
