Georgeanne Banker

My teaching methods are tailored to each individual student, and are focused on building strong fundamentals and encouraging independent musical thought. Throughout the school year, I work with my students on youth orchestra and all-state audition preparation, school band/orchestra repertoire, youth orchestra audition and concert repertoire, and reed making. My students have passed successful auditions for the San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra, El Camino Youth Orchestra, and California All-State Orchestra and Band.

Carol Adee

I grew up in a musical family where singing around the piano or campfire was a regular part of life. When I was 9 I was given the choice of an instrument in our school program. The only way a child could get to play the flute was if you could make a sound on the first try: I was lucky and so I began. It was a new experience to play an instrument at home by myself and to find out how much I enjoyed practicing! Before I found a private teacher, I played every book of music I could find: my mom's piano music, songbooks, violin music, anything! My band teacher (Mr.

Hanneke van Proosdij

Hanneke van Proosdij performs regularly as soloist and continuo specialist and is principal early keyboard player with Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra, Festspiel Orchester Goettingen and Voices of Music. She has appeared regularly with Hesperion XX, Concerto Palatino, Magnificat, American Bach Soloists. Concerto Koln, Chanticleer, LA Phil, Dallas Symphony, Gewandhaus Orchester and the Arcadian Academy. She received her solo and teaching diplomas from the Royal Conservatory in The Hague where she studied recorder, harpsichord and composition.

Chris Kildegaard

I started playing clarinet while in fourth grade at Peralta Elementary in Oakland, playing in Peralta's band program, taught by Mr. David Tidball. In the sixth grade, I began studying privately with Mr. Rudy Tapiro, former Oakland Symphony Orchestra Principal Clarinetist and retired OUSD music teacher, and joined the Berkeley Youth Orchestra (BYO). I played clarinet in BYO for seven years, through my high school graduation. This past summer, I was a counselor and clarinet coach at the Laney Summer Music Program, directed by Mr. Jay Lehmann (Music Department Chair at Laney College).

Cornelius Boots

CORNELIUS BOOTS (MM, SHIHAN) is an award-winning composer-performer, seasoned teacher and licensed shakuhachi master (Shihan) in the dynamic Zen lineage of Watazumido. In 2001, Boots began exploring the depths of the Zen musical mind and rediscovered the inner art of big breathing bamboo. Active internationally since 1990, he has trained, performed, taught, recorded and lectured in-depth within jazz, rock, blues, metal, chamber, orchestral and Zen traditional music. His music degrees are BM Classical Clarinet '97, BS Audio Recording '97, MM Jazz Studies '99, Shihan Dokyoku '13.
