Jane Lenoir

I believe that a solid classical foundation on any instrument in essential to learning to play your instrument well. I have studied with the greatest flutists in the world: Julius Baker, Jean Pierre Rampal, Bob Willoughby, Tom Nyfenger and others, and played in many different idioms: Symphony Orchestra, Contemporary Ensembles performing new music, Jazz and Improvised styles, Brazilian Choro, Samba, Bossa Nova, and Latin Jazz. I have regular workshops for my students, divided into beginners/intermediates and advanced.

Step Up Music (Ariane Cap)

My name is Ariane Cap, I am the founder of Step Up music.
I am a bassist and educator. I perform regularly with various bands and I teach bass, piano and group classes at Step Up, I teach at the Academy of Art University San Francisco, and facilitate seminars and band camps throughout the country. San-San Lin

I am a patient teacher that likes to teach piano/flute student that who actively schedules 30 mins practice time daily into their important school work and other extra-activities outside of school and/or on weekends. Secondly, it is essential for parents' support in their childrens' music learning.

Monica Williams

Monica Williams teaches private flute lessons to students of all ages and levels. Lessons are catered to meet every individual's needs. Students will learn techniques to improve technique, tone, rhythm, musicality, breathe control and posture all while playing music they love! Many of my students have placed first chair in school bands, Berkeley Youth Orchestra, Diablo Valley Regional Orchestra, and Northern California County Honor Band. My students have won concerto competitions such as the SOTA Concerto Competition and the BYO Concerto Competition.

Brenda Schuman-Post

Brenda is internationally recognized for her oboe, english horn and oboe d’amore teaching skills, and remains as devoted to total beginners as she is to advanced players. Every lesson is fun! She’s taught master classes throughout the United States and worldwide and has built both her teaching and playing careers on versatility, making the oboe and its music accessible to almost any audience.

San Francisco Institute of Music

This approach is not only more satisfying musically, but is also physically and athletically correct, which allowed these performers to play without physical or mental antagonism, leading them to reach levels of expression and brilliance unequaled in our present day because this approach has been lost. We are bringing back this esoteric knowledge, which we have named the SFIM Method.

Young Musicians Program

YMP is a music training program for talented 5th through 12th grade students who want to excel in music but who are not able to afford private lessons or specialized training. Participants, selected on the basis of musical potential and financial need, are provided with free musical instruction during the summer and school year. A scholarship program limited to 80 - 95 exceptionally gifted youngsters from low-income families, YMP provides preparatory training for students who plan to go on to college and professional careers.

Winds Across the Bay

Membership is by audition only. Tuition for the 2010-11 season is $560, plus a $40 'Performance Supplement' that includes two tickets to each performance, and a CD recording of each concert. Included in the tuition is a yearly membership in the group, including Instrument Clinics several times a year given by local Professionals. Financial Assistance is available.
