It’s fall and you’re back in the ‘big busy.’ That's understandable, but if you had time to hear these 30 children sing it would do your heart good. They are absolutely terrific singers, with an energy and personality that’s unique. The series comes via Music for Haiti, an initiative to rebuild the Ecole de Musique Ste. Trinite at Holy Trinity Cathedral in Port-au-Prince. Music for Haiti is a partnership between the Episcopal Diocese of Haiti and California.

Holy Trinity began a music program in 1963 and has won international acclaim with its Orchestre Philharmonique. The choral program, which serves children rich and poor alike, continues to function despite the fact that all the buildings in the cathedral complex were destroyed, or partially destroyed, in the great quake of January 2010. The choir has been touring the US ever since, raising money to rebuild.

Music for Haiti, Sept. 30, St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Walnut Creek; Oct. 1, St. Stephen’s, Belvedere; Oct. 2, Christ Church, Portola Valley; Oct. 3, St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Burlingame.
