Singer/songwriter Lauren Mayer helps usher in the zaniness of Purim with original comedy songs and parodies of familiar tunes, including general topical comedy based on current events and favorites from her years of writing and directing Purimshpiels. Lauren Mayer is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Yale University and an accomplished songwriter who has released six albums of original comedy music and eleven albums of educational music for children. She is a five-time recipient of the San Francisco Cabaret Gold Award and has appeared in nightclubs and lounges throughout the Bay Area, Los Angeles and New York, including Feinstein's at the Nikko, The Cirque Room at the Fairmont Hotel, Society Cabaret, The Plush Room and others.
Lauren has performed her one-woman show, Psycho Super Mom, and her duo show with Karen Drucker, From Drips To Divas, at local theatres and synagogues. She has also performed in numerous nightclubs with her husband, Scott Grinthal, in their marital cabaret show, Yes Dear. Lauren also writes and performs weekly topical comedy songs on her YouTube channel; several of her songs have gone viral, with over three million views and counting.
