Presented by Barefoot Chamber Concerts

Barefoot Chamber Concerts (“an enterprise noted for both its quality and informality” – San Francisco Classical Voice) presents really good music in the right acoustic and without the formality of most classical music events.

Barefoot is delighted to be able to present the legendary California Early Music ensemble Musica Pacifica playing their newest program, "Dancing in the Isles II." A fitting sequel to their famous best-selling program "Dancing in the Isles," this new program brings us music from England, Ireland, Scotland; folk and Baroque music; music by Matteis, Locke, McGibbon; new English country dance tunes; some music never heard before, and some cherished masterpieces.

Musica Pacifica (Judith Linsenberg, recorders; Ingrid Matthews, violin; Katherine Heater, harpsichord; Alexa Haynes-Pilon, cello; with guest Peter Maund, percussion) have been entertaining audiences across the country for several decades, and the original "Dancing in the Isles" was their most-loved program, combining baroque and traditional music. This sparkling new program will preserve the same magical blend while featuring new, spectacularly virtuosic pieces. The ensemble brings their customary high energy, superb musicianship, and powerful communicative powers to this catchy and unusual program.

There will be trio sonatas, there will be recorder, there will be violin, cello, harpsichord, percussion, and surprises. There will be snax. Don’t miss this!
