Midsummer Mozart Festival

The little Midsummer Mozart Festival will be in full swing this weekend, with pianist Audrey Vardanega, now an experienced soloist at the advanced age of 16, playing the delightful Piano Concerto in G Major, K.453 (No. 17 for those who don’t deal with the catalog numbers). Soprano Rebecca Davis, who worked with Maestro George Cleve on last year’s super-successful Idomeneo at Opera San Jose, sings a concert aria. And the whole concert ends with a performance of the powerful Symphony in D Major, K. 503, one of Mozart’s most operatic symphonic works, and a personal favorite.
