Christina Knudson

Violinist Christina Knudson has been an avid teacher and performer throughout the Bay Area since moving to San Francisco in 2008. She has experience teaching students from age 3 to adult and from absolute beginner to college-level students. As a conservatory trained violinist, she teaches a solid foundation in violin technique, theory and repertoire. As a violin teacher, her goal is to create a positive learning environment while cultivating the student’s love for music.

Ms. Knudson holds positions in the California and Stockton Symphonies and frequently performs with Berkeley and Monterey Symphonies. She has participated in the National Repertory Orchestra and the Hot Springs Festival. While in Hot Springs, she recorded for the Naxos Label and soloed with the Festival Orchestra. This summer she can be heard performing at the Lake Tahoe Music Festival. In addition to her private violin studio she is co-director and conductor of String Sinfonia through Napa Valley Youth Symphony. She also leads an advanced technique class for a select number of Sinfonia students. Ms. Knudson has received training in Suzuki Books 1-2 and will be attending Book 3 teacher training this summer. She completed her BM at Cal State, Long Beach and her MM and Post Graduate Diploma at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Her principal teachers include Bettina Mussumeli, Catherine Van Hoesen and Mateja Marinkovic.
