This year's Bay Area Youth Orchestra Festival (BAYOF Hope) will be held, for the first time, in Sonoma, in Weill Hall at the Green Music Center. Information about the Sunday event is listed in the SFCV calendar.
Among the outstanding young musicians from five orchestras and 400 youth taking part:
- Marin Symphony Youth Orchestra’s Alexander Ehrenberg, trumpet, who attends Redwood High School in Larkspur
- Oakland Youth Orchestra concertmaster Young Sun (Angel) Kim, violin, a senior at Amador Valley High School in Pleasanton
- Young People Symphony Orchestra’s concertmaster, Beverly Fu, violin, also a senior at Amador Valley High School.
- San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra’s Liam Boisset, oboe, who attends San Francisco’s Ruth Asawa School of the Arts
- Santa Rosa Symphony Youth Orchestra’s Tiffany Wei, principal clarinetist, a senior at Maria Carrillo High School in Santa Rosa
