Brandon Brack, formerly of Chanticleer, and now heading several music organizations, has been named artistic director of the Marin Girls Chorus. He is the second director in the history of the 25-year-old chorus, whose founding artistic director, Martha Wall, retired recently.

Brack will oversee the artistic work of the organization, and conduct the upper division choruses: Arioso, Bel Canto, and Chanton. San Francisco Girls Chorus Executive Director Melanie Smith commented on the appointment: "Brandon Brack was the perfect conductor to serve as interim music director of the San Francisco Girls Chorus during the 2012-2013 season. With his background as a performer, his depth as a musician, and the exceptional creativity he brought to each concert program, Brandon's musical leadership infused the Chorus with energy and artistry. We are delighted by his appointment."

Brack has served on the choral and voice faculties of Fullerton College and California State Polytechnic University-Pomona, where he conducted choral ensembles and taught studio voice. He was a founding teaching artist for the Los Angeles Philharmonic's Youth Orchestra L.A. at HOLA, the El Sistema initiative championed by the L.A. Philharmonic Music Director Gustavo Dudamel.

Brack was conductor of the Apollo Men's Chorus for the 2009-2010 season at the Thornton School of Music at the University of Southern California, where he will complete his doctorate this year. He is also Minister of Music and Arts at the Congregational Church of San Mateo.

Previously, Brack has sung solo with the New World Symphony under the baton of Michael Tilson Thomas, with Seraphic Fire, the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, the UC Berkeley Symphony, and the Berkshire Choral Festival, where he led master classes in choral conducting and vocal technique.
