Z Space is holding a double preview of upcoming productions at 5 p.m. July 11, at Z Space and Z Below, 450 Florida St., San Francisco.

Jazz composer Marcus Shelby and actress Margo Hall will give a preview of their Be Bob Baby: A Musical Memoir, opening in November, and the Bengsons introduce their indie rock opera Hundred Days, scheduled for March, 2014. Z Space Artistic Director Lisa Steindler leads discussions, with the artists on hand.

Be Bob Baby is based on Hall’s life growing up in a musical household, headed by her stepfather, Teddy Harris, Jr., a major figure in the Detroit music scene.

The Bengsons Duo, according to the announcement, "fuse genre-bending energetic and melodic indie-rock influences to create a journey filled with humor, intensity and emotion." The mixed-media production will feature a live band, video projection, lighting, and sound design.
