High Seas Auditions – Looking for new members!
The High Seas are looking for two new members. We will hold auditions in early September and have openings for a First Soprano and a First Alto (S1 and A1).

The High Seas is a 12-voice, female jazz vocal group, sponsored by the St. Francis Yacht Club in San Francisco. It’s an upbeat, fun group and we have a good time together at rehearsals and events.
We perform regularly at the Yacht Club as well as for private parties and other events. Past performances include the December Holiday Party, the Lighted Boat Parade, Opening Day on the Bay, Fleet Week and an Annual Spring show.
Most of our repertoire consists of original, four part arrangements. We focus on a jazz sound and perform in an a cappella setting and/or with a small back-up band. We offer opportunities for solo and quartet performances and during the holidays, we perform holiday tunes along with the Sons of the Sea, the SOTS, which is the Yacht Club’s men’s chorus.
We rehearse Monday nights, 7-9 PM at the Yacht Club, from September – May with a summer break from June – August. We sometimes schedule extra rehearsals for performances, so flexibility is required. Membership in the Yacht Club is a requirement and dues are approximately $ 135 per month.
What we are looking for:
• Upbeat, fun singers with a passion for performing
• 10+ years experience with a cappella harmony
• Strong Sight-reading skills
• Ability to blend well without vibrato
• Good chemistry with the group
• Commitment to excellence
