Summer program in Italy - all levels of singers!

International Lyric Academy - auditions

I am honored to announce that I will be joining the faculty of the International Lyric Academy in Italy for part of the summer. Auditions are being held all over the country and I am assisting in setting up San Francisco area auditions. Please consider it for all levels of classical singers.

The following information is from the ILA website, www.internationallyricacademy.com. Please go to the website for complete info and application.

The International Lyric Academy in Italy, entering its 21st year, is a unique summer program for students and emerging artists. There are opportunities not only for pre-professional soloists, but also for beginning to intermediate level singers, including a high school program, chorus/ensemble program, and new programs for apprentices and musical theater. There are also programs for instrumentalists and conductors.

Opportunities: Singers will be offered repertoire and diction coaching, voice lessons and participate in a full range of classes, master classes, concerts, recitals and rehearsals culminating in four fully staged performances of “COSI’ FAN TUTTE” by Mozart and “SUOR ANGELICA” by Puccini with the Festival’s Symphony Orchestra. There is also the Italian Opera Program, a special session dedicated to the opera scenes from Donizetti, Verdi and Mozart opera repertoire (with Orchestra Ensemble) and concert performances. Other events include Handel’s Messiah, and a Handel and Vivaldi Gala. Instrumentalists will be offered to play in a professional orchestra and in several chamber music concerts.

Tax deductible, 501-C3 status: All payments are tax deductible. The Italian American Opera Foundation (IAOF) is incorporated in California (501-C3 status), whose aim is to offer young musicians and singers from all nations the opportunity to perform in Italy, participating in the International Lyric Academy.
Program fees vary, depending on the program. See website.

Scholarships: Scholarships are available, both merit and need based.

Auditions: San Francisco Bay Area auditions will be held on Saturday, Feb. 28 and Sunday, March 1 at Christ Episcopal Church in Sausalito (with parking lot).

I hope you will consider this multi-faceted program for singers and instrumentalists of all levels.

Thank you,

Victoria
