Alisa Rose

Alisa is a member of the Real Vocal String Quartet and Quartet San Francisco, who was nominated for a Grammy in 2009 for their album "QSF plays Brubeck".

Alisa has performed at Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, Blue Highway Festival in Utrecht, Netherlands, on PBS "Song of the Mountains", and in Carnegie Hall. With 49 Special she won the 2009 Rockygrass Band Competition.

Alisa received her Bachelor's degree and Master's degree in Chamber Music from SFCM, where she studied with Camilla Wicks and Bettina Mussumeli. She has also performed with artists including Martha Katz, Bauhaus, Anais Mitchell, Michelle Shocked, and Josh Ritter. Previously she ran a San Francisco Conservatory of Music outreach program for 2nd - 5th grade violinists at Starr King Elementary School, taught general music at Mother Goose Preschool, and violin/fiddle at the San Francisco Community Music Center. Alisa is certified in Suzuki Book 1, and in Orff-Schulwerk level 1 and loves playing and teaching the violin.
