Dietrich Erbelding

Dietrich Erbelding first concertized with the Heidelberg Symphony at age seven. He toured Europe and the Middle East as a concert pianist and accompanist for five years.

He was coach and conductor at the Heidelberg, Hof and Regensburg operas and acting Music Director at Mannheim National Theater. He worked as assistant to Hans Knappertsbusch, Wolfgang Sawallisch and Herbert v. Karajan; performed at the Salzburg and Edinbourgh Festivals. He has coached renowned opera stars Eva Molnar, Ingeborg Hallstein, Erika Koth, Fritz Wunderlich, Sona Cervena, Gerhard Stolze, Sylvia Anderson and Janis Martin. He has appeared as guest conductor all over Europe, Venezuela and the U.S.

He taught at Mannheim Musikhochschule, Academia della Musica, San Cristobal, Venezuela, Musashino University, Tokyo, Japan, San Francisco Conservatory of Music, UC Santa Cruz and Crestmont Conservatory. He founded Pocket Coach Publications, which produces coaching CDs, translations and music books for singers.
