Jubilith Moore performs song and dance excerpts from Japanese Noh, highlighting the wide spectrum of female characters: an angel risking death to teach the lesson of compassion; a mother searching for her son and driven mad by her loss; and a mother who sacrifices herself for the sake of her son’s future. Drawing from a different East Asian theatrical tradition, Chinese actress Sabrina Hou presents excerpts from Chinese Kunqu operas The Peony Pavilion and The Story of Jade Hairpin.
