Presented by Old First Concerts

Del Sol String Quartet hosts the second annual Pacific Pythagorean Music Festival at Old First Concerts. This annual festival is devoted to music that uses mathematically “pure ratios” - finding harmony and resonance in alternate tuning systems. With performances by an all-star lineup of Bay Area performers from experimental to traditional styles, this year’s four-hour celebration will also feature several world premieres. The Del Sol Quartet will perform a newly commissioned piece from composer Jung Yoon Wie, as part of the PPMF just intonation commissioning fund. Honoring the memory of Ben Johnston, Del Sol will be joined by local forces for the world premiere of Ben Johnston’s Symphony in A.
