MANON LESCAUT, by Giacomo Puccini. Lecturer: Roger Pines, Dramaturg at Lyric Opera of Chicago, as well as a well-known opera historian and writer. The second version of this opera (the other is by Jules Massenet) tells of the interactions between a young clergyman, the beautiful young Manon and the older rich gentleman who makes her his mistress.
