Community Concerts at Epworth

Now in its 5th Season, Community Concerts at Epworth brings high quality performances of diverse styles and genres to our North Berkeley neighborhood in an accessible format. Concerts are about one hour in length, and they are free of charge so that all can have access to great music. Donations received at performances are used to bring our musicians to the larger community, with a special focus on young musicians in our schools.

The theme of our 5th Season is Building Bridges, a look at how classical music links unlikely people together in a shared intimate experience. It explores the many ways that music brings the world closer and breaks the boundaries that divide us. The 2019-2020 season brings us glimpses of humanity from Stalinist Russia, dance music of Brazil, sounds of Ancient Korea, and musings of an 18th Century German genius. And we are excited to add a talented ensemble of young musicians to our series for the first time.

The concert series is a community service of Epworth United Methodist Church of Berkeley, a Reconciling Congregation committed to justice for all people.
