What they do best:

Tenth Avenue Players (affectionately known as TAP) formed when four long-time friends and musical colleagues decided to slow down and dig deep. Frustrated with tight rehearsal schedules and a never-quite-satisfied urge to explore further, these award-winning musicians aligned themselves with a mission to perform, promote, record, and commission great chamber music at the highest level. Marked by their powerful sound and profound unity of expression, many performances by the San Francisco-based group feature dynamic instrumentation, as the ensemble expands and contracts with repertoire for duo, trio, quartet and beyond. The musicians of TAP each have varied and busy performing careers, having performed on the stages of Alice Tully Hall, Walt Disney Concert Hall, Davies Symphony Hall, the New York City Center, and through the airwaves of WNYC, WHYY, WQXR, WFMT Chicago, and KALW. Committed to promoting the work of living composers, all members have premiered, presented, and/or commissioned new music.
