RiverBells Sacramento

Founded in 1998 by their director Paul W. Allen, RiverBells Sacramento is a community English handbell ensemble dedicated to promoting English handbell music in the Sacramento area. One of our specialties, in addition to traditional handbell music and adaptations, is swing music of the big band era. RiverBells Sacramento consists of fifteen ringers, several of whom are directors of other handbell ensembles. The group performs with six octaves of Schulmerich handbells and six octaves of Malmark choir chimes.
RiverBells Sacramento gathers an exceptional group of advanced musicians of all ages to perform a widely-varied selection of difficult music. Many of the ringers are proficient on other instruments, are experienced in small ensemble work, and are accomplished solo ringers. RiverBells Sacramento members are often called upon in selections requiring accompaniment.
