What they do best:

Voices of Music, directed by Hanneke van Proosdij and David Tayler, is hailed for their passion, artistry and technical brilliance.

With over twenty three million viewers worldwide, San Francisco's Voices of Music is the most popular Early Music ensemble in the United States and one of the most popular Classical Music ensembles in the world today. For the past nine years, Voices of Music has been building a digital library of music from their concerts. They currently have released 265 videos, as part of their digital library, which is free for anyone to view and is used in classes at high schools, colleges and universities across the world.

Featuring some of the best performers in Early Music, the ensemble is dedicated to the idea of the voices of the individual musicians in performance. Performances are one on a part, with an emphasis on combining both instrumental and vocal styles of interpretation and ornamentation.

In addition to the concert series in the San Francisco Bay Area, Voices of Music sponsors the Young Artist Program, which is specifically designed to work with the next generation of singers and instrumentalists; the Junior Recorder Society, for children from third through tenth grade, and the Barbary Coast Recorder Orchestra.
