A Celebration of Musicians Around the Bay

April 10, 7pm through April18, midnight Berkeley Chamber Performances and the Bay Area Music Consortium (BAMC)* present, "A Celebration of Musicians Around the Bay," a virtual showcase of the extraordinary talent and diversity of our treasured Bay Area artists. From Quinteto Latino's brilliant blend of performance and advocacy, to the deeply expressive Indian music of Alam Khan, to the cutting-edge Friction Quartet and the next generation of brilliant classical talent, Stars Aligned Siblings, this concert is an opportunity to gather together from all corners of the Bay Area and celebrate these trailblazing performers and composers whom we miss experiencing live! Featuring: Quinteto Latino, a wind quintet focusing on the music of Latin American composers, presenting a newly commissioned work by Gabriela Lena Frank and a piece by Astor Piazzolla Alam Khan, sarod master from the Ali Akbar College of Music in San Rafael, performing a raga in the Indian classical tradition Friction Quartet, a string quartet known for expanding the string quartet repertoire Stars Aligned Siblings, an award-winning string quartet of siblings ranging in age from 8 to 14 performing movements from Franz Joseph Haydn: String Quartet No. 41 Op. 76 #2 and Florence Price: String Quartet No. 2 in a minor Any and all donations made through the event will directly and equally benefit each performing ensemble. ____________________ *BAMC is a partnership between four distinct organizations dedicated to presenting the finest in chamber music experiences: Berkeley Chamber Performances, Gold Coast Chamber Players (Lafayette), Mill Valley Chamber Music Society, and Noe Music (San Francisco).
