This is music you won't hear anywhere else! This program consists entirely of original compositions, combining a jazz quintet with string quartet.
Typically, in a jazz setting, strings are either relegated to the role of "sweetener" or, in small jazz groups they function much like another horn. Here, you hear a true musical partnership, with the string quartet integrated into the music, lending its agility and plush sonority to balance and contrast with the slash and burn of the jazz quintet. These arrangements have been a long time in the making, and we are thrilled to be able to share them with you tonight!
