The audience is invited to witness and engage with performers journey to recover ancestral knowledge on behalf of Indigenous-centered futurity for humans and beyond. Cosmological themes are woven with locative media to engage a collective vision of emergence into the fifth world future. These themes emerge from contributions of collaborating global Indigenous artists and community advisors, including community members, and honors the vision being cultivated by the next generation as the young leaders who are making the future with their imagination, and decisions, to nurture hope that will inspire action and re-balancing. As a performance-ritual, BTW US incorporates mobile installation, oratory, dance, music, immersive media, and design that includes salvaged and repurposed materials. Award winning Artistic Director Rulan Tangen collaborates with a constellation global Indigenous artists, and California Native representation through soundscape and videoscope, that grounds the work in local respect and relation-building.
