Award-winning contemporary music group Ensemble for These Times opens its fourteenth season with works focusing on identity and transformation by Coleridge-Taylor Perkinson, Lisa Bielawa, Marcus Norris, Gabriela Ortiz, Pablo Ortiz, Julia Perry, Darian Donovan-Thomas, and George Walker.
The concert will feature the world premieres of "The Unseen," by emerging queer Bay Area composer Brennan Stokes (b. 1990), setting poems by Sara Teasdale about isolation, loss, and despair, and a new solo cello piece by California composer Mary Bianco.
Guest coloratura soprano Chelsea Hollow will join E4TT members pianist Margaret Halbig, soprano Nanette McGuinness and cellist Abigail Monroe.
