Friction Quartet is excited to open their 21-22 concert season with the long awaited premiered of five commissions from their second Commissioning Initiative. The music from Sofia Belimova, Carolina Bragg, Theodore Haber, Kari Watson, and Benjamin Champion explores a range of topics and techniques that challenge the quartet to experiment, creating a concert experience full of innovation and expression. The quartet will also give a sixth world premiere performance of the gripping new quartet "it was never okay" written by Isaac Schankler.
