The Cecilia Ensemble was born during the pandemic in 2020, as friends who naturally took to making music together through times of uncertainty. They began performing outdoors in the streets of San Francisco, at street closures, cul de sacs, and driveways, sharing their music with the public. Their indoor debut will be at Mission Dolores on May 15, 2022. Core members, Maki Ishii Sowash and Michael Long, violins, Paul Ehrlich, viola, Victoria Ehrlich, cello, are musicians from the SF Opera, SF Ballet, and BARS.
A special treat for the in-person audience will be to meet the composers whose colorful and varied styles of music we will hear. Co-sponsors for this concert are the Los Angeles and San Francisco Chapters of the National Association of ComposersUSA.
